Department of BBA


Bachelor of Business Administration BBA of KC Das Commerce College was established in the year 2008 affiliated to GU with an intake capacity of 40 students. The department started with an aim to provide higher education in management. Since inception the department is effectively functioning with highly dedicated staff towards providing quality education with critical knowledge and ideas about business administration. The output can be seen with the results of the students who have passed with flying colors. Many students have secured good percentages and also have achieved top ranks in the Gauhati University. The department has left its footprint over the sand of time and looking over that intake capacity was enhanced from 40 to 60 students from the session 2015 to 2016. BBA department has a record of students coming from the various parts of the country. The students are highly dedicated to the studies and other curricular activities. Various projects based on Industry visits, Summer projects, Workshop, Grooming sessions, Industry academia meet, Seminars and Conferences are being conducted by the department. The department is now structured as per NEP 2020 and has been AICTE approved since 2023.

Life Skills for Personality Development Resource Persons: Dr. Nesmita Das (Students counsellor, IIT Guwahati) Dr. Rita Rani Talukdar (Associate professor Department of Psychology, Guwahati University) Ms. Olivia Kakati (Guest faculty, Cotton University & Visiting faculty, Royal Global University) The workshop was based on the importance of life skills in our daily life and personality development. Entreprenuership and Regional Development (Industry Academia Meet) Resource Person : Pranab Kr. NPA along with an overview of entire Banking System (Industry Academia Meet) Resource Person : Abhijit Sarkar (Sr. Manager Recovery, Bank Of Baroda, Guwahati Region) The event was an interactive meet between the invited guest and the participants about new practical banking experiences. Importance of Regular Attendance (Parent-Teacher Meet) Department Faculty Members The PTM's primary motive was to make the parents aware of the necessity of regularly attending the classes by their children and its impact on their academic life. A total number of 31 parents attended the meeting on the concerned date while many parents also visited the department later. Localised Marketing Tactics for Small Business Entrepreneurs (Industry Academia Meet) Resource Person : Anupam Deka (Assam Gaurav Awardee,2023; Director of Repose Foods Pvt. Ltd., Founder of SR Deka & Company Pvt. Ltd.) A one day Industry Academia Meet has been organized by the Department of BBA K.C. Das Commerce College on 27th April, 2024. The resource person for the program was was Anupam Deka, Assam Gaurav Awardee,2023; Director of Repose Foods Pvt. Ltd.; Founder of SR Deka & Company Pvt. Ltd., Founder of a 200 Crores mega project, " Sumitra Agrotech Park." Prof. Dept. of Commerce, Christ (Deemed to be University) A national students conference on entrepreneurship and innovation was held at K.C. Das Commerce College on 30th of April, 2025.The seminar was organized collectively by the Department of M.Com and BBA in collaboration with IQAC of the college .The conference provided a valuable platform for researchers and students of commerce and management to showcase their groundbreaking concepts. The conference featured three technical sessions on various topics with a total of 27 research papers from different educational institutions across India.The session has papers covering areas like social entrepreneurship, e-commerce, empowering women and preserving culture. The resource person shared their valuable insights after each technical sessions that enhanced their learning experience and also helped the participants develop better understanding. The conference felicitated both online and offline paper presenters allowing for wider participation from scholars and researchers. The event was also attended by the faculty members of K.C. Das Commerce College and a total number of 120 students from the Department of M.Com and BBA contributed to a successful and insightful academic gathering on the significance of entrepreneurship and innovation.
