Bachelor of Business Administration is a three year program which provides foundation for fundamental concepts of business and management. It is a professional degree that is rising in popularity among students who wants to make a career in management.

The objective of the course is to impart business and management skills to students and overall understanding on business process and develop business skills such as decision making, managerial skills, leadership, computer skills, personal development, time management, etc. The students also gain a lot of knowledge on topics such as business law, accounting principles, economic terms, concepts and theories, environmental issues, etc. The course also gives the learner a fair idea related to the product and services. Students also learn about importance of services of the prevailing market and customer satisfaction.

Students, who choose BCA program, develop the ability to think critically, logically, analytically and to use and apply current technical concepts and practices in the core development of solutions in the form of information technology.

The knowledge and skills gained with a degree in Computer Science prepare graduates for a broad range of jobs in education, research, government sector, business sector and industry.

The completion of the BCA program shall enable a student to:

      To communicate technical information both orally and in writing.
    Apply the knowledge gained core courses to a broad range of advanced topics in computer science, to learn and develop sophisticated technical product independently.

COURSE OUTCOME OF FINANCE

The Department of Finance undertakes several important subjects in both Higher Secondary and Under Graduate Classes.

The lists of different subjects taught are viz. Banking, Investing in Stock Markets, Insurance and Risk Management, Business Law, Corporate Law, Financial Services, Regulatory Framework of Business, Modern Banking Practices, International Banking, International Trade, Financial Institutions & Markets, Rural & Micro Finance, Micro Credit Institutions, etc.

Broadly the different subjects taught are classified under three group’s viz. Major, Finance and Law.

Department of Mathematics and Statistics
COURSE OUTCOME OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS

Mathematics nurtures certain abilities like logical reasoning, problem solving, abstract thinking and creativity.

Statistics keeps us informed about what is happening in the world around us. Moreover it is very important because today we live in the world of information and much of this information are either quantitative or qualitative in nature and these can be analysed and understood properly by using Statistical tools.

Students graduating in Commerce or other streams with Mathematics and Statistics have the following advantages:

     Students can pursue higher studies and professional courses like M.Com, MBA, Chartered Accountancy, Cost and Work Accountancy and the like.
     Students can pursue research activities, where Statistics plays a pivotal role.
     Students will be competent enough to face the competitive examinations where logical reasoning is very important.
     Students can even start an entrepreneurship or business in which Mathematics and Statistics tools are indispensable.
     Students wanting to venture into the world of Actuarial Science (formulation of optimum insurance policies) would need a strong foundation in Mathematics and Statistics.

Department of Accountancy
COURSE OUTCOME OF ACCOUNTANCY (HONS.)

Accounting education is an important branch of commerce education. It helps the students to acquire conceptual knowledge and skill of Accounting and skills for recording various kinds of business transactions and to learn the techniques of preparing the financial statements of Trading and Non-Trading organizations. Students also acquire knowledge of taxation, auditing, costing, budgeting etc.

The students graduated with Accountancy Honors Course can pursue Professional courses like Chartered Accountancy, Cost and Works Accountancy, Company Secretary, Master of Business Administration and various job oriented Diploma and Degree courses.

Apart from teaching job, a graduate with Accountancy can get engagement as Accounts Officer, Finance Manager, Tax Consultant, Accountants etc. in private and public sector enterprises. There are opportunities for self-employment opportunities to commerce graduates with Accountancy specialization in different areas like export-import, insurance, securities market etc.

Department of Economics
COURSE OUTCOME OF ECONOMICS

Being a part of the K. C. Das commerce college, the department of Economics has to teach under commerce stream, where the subject economics is offered to students in the form of general papers (or generic under CBCS) not core papers at the B.Com course. By studying Economics, one can learn more about how the world works as it helps in gaining knowledge about the impact that decisions have on firms, industries and nations, the impact of international trade, the effects government policies on the economy and on employment etc. Hence, no one can deny the importance of the subject Economics in commerce stream. The outcome of the course, i.e., how students will be benefitted by learning the subject Economics, may be outlined as follows:

  2. understand the importance, causes and impact of population growth and its distribution, translate and relate them with economic development.
  3. grasp the knowledge of importance of planning undertaken by the government of India and generate knowledge on the various objectives, failures and achievements of the ongoing planning and economic reforms taken by the government.
  4. understand agriculture as the foundation of economic growth and development, analyse the progress and changing nature of agricultural sector and its contribution to the economy as a whole.
  5. understand the burning economic obstacles of growth and development such as inflation, unemployment and poverty(causes and effects on different sectors) and find out measures to control these .

B. Com (CBCS) – 1st semester : Micro economics
  1. develop the ability to explain core micro economic terms, concepts, and theories.
  2. familiarise and understand the concepts of cost, nature of production and consumer behaviour and its relation with the modern economics.
  3. understand the pricing and output decisions under various market structure and analyse the causes and consequences of different market conditions.
  4. understand how factor market works, identify the various determinants of firm’s demand for factor services, oligopoly, monopoly, demonstrate monopsony in factor market and factor market equilibrium.
  5. demonstrate marginal productivity theory of distribution, theory of wages, identify different types of rent, illustrate different theories of interest and profits.
2nd semester: Macro economics
  1. identify key macroeconomic indicators and measures of economics change, growth, and development.
  2. familiar with the knowledge and application of macroeconomics for the formulation of policies and planning.
  3. define and explain the process of calculating national income, identify its components, demonstrate circular flow of income, analyse the various income identities with government and international trade.
  4. understand Say’s law of market, classical theory of employment and Keynes objection to the classical theory along with fiscal and monetary theory with the IS-LM framework.
  5. understand the serious macroeconomic challenges such as inflation (causes and effects on different sectors), unemployment and its relation with the labour market.

Course Outcome : On completion of course , students can also go for advanced level course and get expertise in this course. After the completion of this course, students can get different jobs of diverse profiles such as Software Developer, Software Analyst, Programmer etc.

Department of M. Com
COURSE OUTCOME OF M. COM

Any student with a B. Com Degree has the option of preferring M. Com Course. The masters as the name suggests make a student earn mastery over Commerce. But the academic knowhow accumulated from a course has to be utilised by the students in their life to earn a career. Therefore, specialisations are planned in the course structure.

The general principle of choosing a specialisation is by considering the major taken in graduation and the area of interest. The system of Dual Specialisation is in practice according to the present academic curriculum. Accounts & Finance and Management & Marketing are the two specific specialisation groups offered to a student pursuing M.Com. A student with a graduation degree with Accounts or Finance Major can opt for a specialisation of Accounts& Finance. Similarly, a student with a graduation degree with Management specialisation can prefer Management & marketing. This can help a student strengthen his/her area of knowledge and earn the expertise over one specific area.

The subjects under each specialisation is planned in a manner considered useful for a student in future. The area of specialisation also helps the students to choose the nature of work they would like to prefer for earning their daily bread. The subjects are properly planned in each semester. The Syllabus too is well structured and aims at providing the students with the maximum knowledge from every subject. There are compulsory subjects for the students in each semester which are selected wisely by the University for their academic welfare. They are also re-considered and revised in regular intervals to corporate the necessary upgradations as required. Such initiatives are implemented to help students demonstrate their proficiency in commerce. Degree of M. Com will bring in new opportunities which can be tapped and justified with their expertise and knowledge earned from the course.
