Study Centres of Distance Education

The Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), formerly known as Post Graduate Correspondence School (PGCS) was established in May 1998 with the objective to ensure the opportunity to pursue quality higher education to the large number of students who could not pursue higher education through conventional mode of education.

IDOL strives to accommodate students who cannot enroll in the conventional system of higher education due to various factors like limited number of seats in Post Graduate classes, livelihood compulsion etc. and aims to impart quality education in an intellectually challenging learning environment.

An IDOL Study Centre under Gauhati University is located in the College campus. It offers the following courses:

1. 01 Bachelor of Commerce (Regular Course)
2. 02 Master of Commerce
3. 03 Bachelor of Computer Application

IGNOU was founded to serve the Indian population by means of distance and open education, providing quality higher education opportunities to all segments of society.

It also aims to encourage, coordinate and set standards for distance and open education in India, and to strengthen the human resources of India through education.

Apart from teaching and research, extension and training form the mainstay of its academic activities. It also acts as a national resource center, and serves to promote and maintain standards of distance education in India.

The IGNOU Study Centre located in the College campus offers the following courses:

1. 01 Management Programme (MP)
2. 02 Bachelor of Commerce
3. 03 Master of Commerce
4. 04 Diploma in Event Management
